Lazy Eye (Amblyopia) Treatment

At Woodburn Eye Center, we provide comprehensive eye turn and strabismus evaluations for children and teens in Woodburn, Oregon. Strabismus, commonly known as an eye turn or crossed eyes, occurs when the eyes do not properly align and work together. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to support healthy visual development and prevent long-term vision problems.

Our pediatric optometrists specialize in evaluating eye alignment and creating personalized treatment plans to help children develop strong, coordinated vision.

What Is Strabismus?

Strabismus is a condition where one or both eyes may turn inward, outward, upward, or downward instead of focusing together. Eye turns can be constant or occasional and may affect one or both eyes.

Children with strabismus may experience:

  • Eyes that appear crossed or misaligned

  • Double vision

  • Poor depth perception

  • Squinting or head tilting

  • Difficulty focusing

  • Eye strain or fatigue

In some cases, untreated strabismus can lead to lazy eye (amblyopia) and reduced vision development in one eye.

If you notice signs of an eye turn or have concerns about your child’s eye alignment, schedule a pediatric eye exam today. Early treatment can make a lasting difference in your child’s vision and development.
